I've never seen this flick and I'm ...Dude!
I've never seen this flick and I'm astonished that it's the EIGHTH film in the franchise (I'm trusting your word on this). I also see that Rick Rosenthal directed it and I had to double-check to make sure, but he also directed the first sequel and also BAD BOYS (the one with Sean Penn). Now it makes me want to check this out.
I guess he's been doing a lot of TV shows (including a couple episodes of BUFFY).
Eh, you gotta find work where you can.
But your comment about the opening sequence almost seeming like a short film on its own struck me as an interesting comment because I remember reading that apparently Rosenthal got the job to do HALLOWEEN 2 on the strength of a horror short he did called TOYER.
Good review, stud!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2592266676978922940.post-73309567005554420302012-10-25T01:22:05.458-04:002012-10-25T01:22:05.458-04:00Haha. Yeah I kinda figured she was killed and was ...Haha. Yeah I kinda figured she was killed and was actually gonna watch the deleted scenes to see if her death scene was in there, but at the end of the day I just didn't care enough. Still though, it's pretty funny that she's just gone all of a sudden.

That's a funny anecdote about Busta Rhymes. I would have watched the commentary, but I had other movies to watch and just didn't have time. Thanks for the comment, Brian!Aaronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02153426751208051792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2592266676978922940.post-64437426931895904152012-10-25T00:48:04.889-04:002012-10-25T00:48:04.889-04:00Great assessment, Aaron! There's a pic of Myers coming up behind her in Fangoria that's not in the film.

I saw it in the theater and liked it, but was annoyed but some things in it. Mostly Rhymes kung fu fight at the end and his watching Chang Cheh's THE DUEL (1971) and referring to David Chiang as Hwang Jang Lee. Then on the DVD commentary, the director says he thought he knew all the big kung fu stars and asked who Hwang was and Busta said he made it up (?!?!?!)
