Request for Fire 2: The Burning Deuce

Overall, activity on The Death Rattle during January was slower than usual, but there's a reason for that. Other than watching the shit out of some PUPPET MASTER, I've been plowing through all the movies from 2011 that I've been wanting to see so that I can put together my Top 13 of 2011 lists as soon as possible. Well, right now I'm pretty much done and have a handful of movies left to watch. Once I get done with them, I'll get cracking on the lists and hopefully have the first of them posted by this weekend or early next week (probably my Horror list).

"You give me a time and place, I give you a five minute window. Those five minutes I'm yours. Whatever goes down I'm yours. Minute either side you're on your own...

...One last thing. I want you to review CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE."

In the meantime, I wanted to open up the request lines once again and take some Reader's Choice picks from you guys. Everyone who participated last time picked some AMAZING movies for me to cover, a lot of which I wouldn't have even seen otherwise. Just like last time, leave a comment below with titles of movies that you'd like me to review, or just interesting movies that you think I should see; if you picked something last time and I never got around to reviewing it, feel free to pick it again. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

    1. My man! Thanks for coming through with some great picks, Brian. Can't wait to check some of those out. Was actually planning on checking out BOXER'S OMEN fairly soon, and now I finally have an excuse to pick up the Severin copy of HORROR EXPRESS. :-)

  3. It appears that your a fan of Drive. That's my pick for best film of 2011.

If you're a fan of Refn, then I'd like to hear your thoughts on Vahalla Rising.

I'm curious too about a film with Josh Hartnett titled, "I Come With the Rain."

Hope all is well, and have a good one, my man.

    1. I've already seen VALHALLA RISING, but it's one that I feel I NEED to revisit, so it's actually very convenient that you picked it. I had never even heard of I COME WITH THE RAIN until now... I'm intrigued. I'll see if I can track down a copy of it. Thanks, Hans!

  4. I have a few...
    Red Hill
    10 to Midnight
    Marathon Man
    S&Man
    Rock and Roll High School
    Mulberry Street
    American Kickboxer 1

There you go, a nice versatile list of films, most of which I think you will enjoy!

Also, I second Hans' choice for Valhalla Rising. I absolutely loved that film, however I seem to be one of the very few that did, so I'm curious as to what a second viewing would be for you.

    1. Sweet. Thanks, Matt! Those are do-able. As far as VALHALLA RISING, I'm one of the people who didn't like it, but we'll see how it holds up when I watch it again. Should be interesting the second time around now that I have a better understanding of what Refn is all about.
