Remember some time last year when I reviewed a bunch of reader requests? I think I'd like to do something like that again soon, so the Request Lines are officially open. Throw some titles my way in the comments section and I'll cover the ones that sound interesting (seeing as I have less people who actually read The Death Rattle than last year, I won't be holding my breath). Any genre is fine, but nothing mainstream, please.
P.S. If you see any weird shit in your blog roll from me, just ignore it. I meant to delete some drafts but ended up posting them on accident.
Try:
ReplyDeleteMassacre Mafia Style
Monster of Piedras Blancas
Carnage (1984)
The Secret Life: Jeffrey Dahmer
None of those are of Netflix, unfortunately. Can you give me some titles that are readily available?
ReplyDeleteDunno how readily available these are ...
ReplyDeleteMilano Calibro 9
Waves of Lust
This World, Then the Fireworks
The Place Without Limits (El lugar sin limites)
The Black Gestapo
Murder in a Blue World
Seance on a Wet Afternoon
Colour Blossoms
Howzabout:
ReplyDeleteTHE PUBLIC EYE
JESUS' SON
THE PASSION OF DARKLY NOON
SANDS OF OBLIVION
All are on Netflix streaming
Ahh okay, sorry bout that.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I could recommend that's on Netflix:
Blood and Lace
Switchblade Sisters
Girls in Chains (1973)
10 To Midnight
I cannot think of a film, period. My passion for cinema has truly diminished over the last few weeks, Aaron.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I've noticed in several of your reviews that you know quite a bit about music. I don't know if it will fit your bill, but I'd really love to hear what you think are some the best albums that you've heard recently.
If I do think of a flick, I'll get back to you. Have a good one, my man.
How about these random titles...
ReplyDeleteDR. DEATH: SEEKER OF SOULS
NIGHTMARE (1981)
RITUALS (code red release)
KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS
FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS
ACROSS 110TH STREET
WALKING TALL (1973)
FREAKS
BONNIE'S KIDS
THE CENTERFOLD GIRLS
and on and on....
Thanks, fellas! Most of those are do-able and I look forward to checking them out soon since I've never seen nor heard of a majority of those titles.
ReplyDeleteraculfright_13 actually requested BLACK GESTAPO last year and I never got around to it, so I'll put that high on the list of priorities.
Hans: I'd love to do some music-related posts. Also, I can relate to your diminishing love of cinema, to a certain extent. Rarely do I get excited about films anymore, and most of the time as of late I watch movies just to watch movies.
Brian: I actually own both FREAKS and BONNIE'S KIDS, so I can cover those fairly soon.
Tattoo
ReplyDeleteTesis
Six String Samurai
Dolan's Cadilac
Das Experiment
Rec
DIG
Thanks, Elwood.
ReplyDeleteDIG is a favorite of mine and I'll be covering that one VERY soon. Looking forward to checking out the others, even SIX STRING SAMURAI, which I'm not a fan of but will gladly cover.
As far as REC, I like it a lot but there's really nothing I can say about that one that hasn't already been said.
"Rec" has been done to death which I realized soon after I recommended it, though it's almost found footage style works ahell of alot more effectively than the majority of Blair Witch imitators there have been over the years, while "Rec2" gave us the best use of Shoulder cams sine "Aliens". I love Six String Samurai just for how random it is, but I tend to find that people either love or hate it.
ReplyDeleteI would also recommend checking out, if you havn't already
Buffalo Soldiers
Frontier(s)
The Scorpion
Enter...Zombie King / Zombie Beach Party
The Final
District 13
Thanks for the extra titles. Which SCORPION are you talking about?
ReplyDeleteI'll go with a specific genre with a specific director and star. I'm thinking Lenzi Euro-Crime films staring Tomas Milian.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human
The Cynic, the Rat and the Fist
Syndicate Sadists
Rome Armed to the Teeth
Also, I'll pick a few as diverse as possible films that I hope you haven't already checked out, or at least reviewed!:
Vigilante
Dressed to Kill
Sin Nombre
S&Man
Ghost Dog
Terribly Happy
London to Brighton
That's it.
"The Scorpion" I was recommending was this one
ReplyDeletehttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0496385/
Suprised to see it rated so low on IMDB, as I really like it, especially when the lead actor turns up French family films like Asterix and then shows up as a badass in this movie.
Matt: I've been wanting to see those Lenzi films for the longest, but they've always been in Wait Hell on Netflix, and now they're in Save Hell. I won't be getting to those any time soon (I try to avoid downloading movies if I can help it), but I will seek them out eventually. As far as the other films you picked, those are all do-able. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteElwood: Thanks for clarifying. Now that I know which one you're talking about, I'm familiar with the actor you speak of.
Here's a few to mull over.
ReplyDeleteGONIN
BLIND BEAST
W. (or W is WAR)
THE HOUSE WITH LAUGHING WINDOWS
HAXAN: WITCHCRAFT THROUGH THE AGES
Thanks for those picks, Karl! LAUGHING WINDOWS in particular has been on my must-see list for long enough, so I'll be sure to get to that one fairly soon.
